A opening for a post-doctoral research scientist has become available in the new team “Bacteria, Antibiotics, and Immunity” in the Center for Infection and Immunity of Lille, located at the Institut Pasteur de Lille. The scientist will work in the context of the H2020 project FAIR.

Purpose

The applicant will work on a project that aims at developing innovative therapeutic approaches combining antibiotics and targeting of innate immunity to fight against most clinically relevant respiratory bacterial infections.The consortium gathers scientists from Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, United Kingdom, and Switzerland, with multidisciplinary expertise in translational PK/PD modeling, innate immunity, animal models, biologicals, phase I clinical trial, and respiratory infections with antibiotic-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae,and Streptococcus pneumoniae. The project will address molecular and cellular mechanisms of therapy of bacterial infections and apply the most recent concepts on the immunotherapy in the field. The Institut Pasteur de Lille provides state-of-the-art infrastructure and equipment to investigate host-pathogens interactions in in vitro and animal models.

Profile

Applicants should have a PhD with a strong expertise in cell biology, intracellular trafficking, microscopy,immunology and microbiology. Applicants should be strongly motivated, have excellent communication skills, fluent English and a strong publication record in line with their research experience. Applicants must be able to set up, perform, analyse the experiments, prepare oral and written reports, and implement writing of scientific manuscripts. A strong self-commitment and autonomy of the applicant is mandatory to properly carry out the project.
