The Beck group is seeking a postdoctoral fellow, who will be funded by the Boehringer Ingelheim Foundation, for a project involving protein redesign, protein production and functionalisation, and application in imaging and therapy.
You should have a PhD degree in chemistry, biochemistry or biology and some experience with protein production and purification. Skills in structural biology / computational design are a plus.
Specific Duties:
Redesign of protein containers with computational tools based on structural models, and recom- binant production and purification of protein containers. Synthesis of inorganic nanoparticles and encapsulation into the redesigned containers. Characterisation of protein containers and inorganic-protein composites.
Requirements:
A university degree in a relevant subject plus doctorate. A background in chemistry or biochemistry is required, with a strong excitement for experimental research. Previous knowledge in protein purification or protein design is highly desirable. The candidate must enjoy working in an interdisciplinary team environment, and must have excellent communication skills.
