Cryo-Electron Microscopy facility Manager position is available at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland OH USA:  

CWRU is seeking a Cryo-EM manager for its new state-of-the-art EM facility. The Cryo-EM manager will assist in the installation and support the operation of the new Titan Krios G3i equipped with a K3 Direct Electron Detector, Gatan Bioquantum energy filter and a phase plate, The Cryo-EM manager will work under the supervision of the Faculty Director and oversee the Cryo-EM core’s day-to-day operations and assist CWRU’s technology development efforts. 

Requirements

A PhD degree in Structural Biology, 5-7 years of research experience in a laboratory setting with 2-3 years of cryo-EM experience. Demonstrated skill and extensive experience in the high-resolution operation of cryo-electron microscopes. Expertise in sample freezing, sample handling, microscope use, and data evaluation and analysis using EM software is essential. Familiarity with structure determination/analysis workflows and strong knowledge of Linux and OSX operating systems is required. Proven ability to contribute to experimental design, and assist with the analysis and interpretation of results. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
