The International Conference on Research Infrastructures (ICRI) brings together policy experts, facility managers, leading researchers and a variety of other stakeholders to discuss challenges and emerging trends for research infrastructures around the world.

ICRI 2021 is supported with funding from the European Union and is hosted by the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI), in partnership with the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council, and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, and with additional support from Laboratories Canada and the National Research Council of Canada.

The COVID-19 pandemic has underlined how important it is for researchers to have access to the labs and facilities they need to tackle emerging issues. From June 1-3, 2021, ICRI 2021 will address the special role research infrastructure plays in strengthening our capacity to respond to global challenges.

Within our own countries we have national research labs, and others located in universities, colleges, hospitals and industry. We can learn from best practices in order to use our resources wisely.

Instruct-ERIC will have a booth at the event, outlining the key features of research infrastructures to those who use them, fund them, and work with them. The work that Instruct-ERIC and RI-VIS have done regarding boosting visibility of research infrastructures is a central part of how they operate. Instruct’s involvement in the EU-LAC project, developing new relationships with Latin American scientists, will also be presented.
