Deleting a Procedure

  1. Go to instruct-eric.org and login.
  2. Click on "Your Admin" on the ARIA bar at the bottom of the page. (If you cannot see this then you can access the page via structuralbiology.eu/adm)
  3. Click on the "Configuration" cog-shaped icon. Note that this is not the same as the cog icon beside "Edit profile"
  4. Click on "Machines/Methods", then "Edit "Procedures".

A list of existing procedures are displayed in a table.

  1. To delete a procedure it must have zero associated machines/methods (so that the deletion of the procedure would not leave machines/methods without a procedure). In the Machines/Methods column of the table the total number of machines/methods for each procedure is listed. To filter the list to locate a particular procedure, type keywords in the table search bar.

If the procedure you wish to delete has no associated machines/methods

  1. In the "Actions" column of the table click the dropdown menu next to the "Edit" button in the row of the procedure you wish to delete and select the option "Delete".
  2. Select "OK" in the popup window when prompted to confirm the deletion of the procedure.

If the procedure you wish to delete has any (>0) associated machines/methods

  1. Remaining in the configuration tab, Click on "Machines/Methods", then "Edit Machines/Methods".

A list of machines/methods are displayed in a table. The procedure for each machine is given in the procedure column.

  1. Using the search bar above the table, type in the name of the procedure that you wish to delete to filter results in the table to show machines/methods with that procedure.
  2. Either edit each of these machines/methods to operate a different procedure, or delete these machines such that no machines now operate the procedure you plan to delete.
  3. Return to the edit procedures page by clicking "Machines/Methods", then "Edit Procedures".
  4. Locate the procedure you wish to delete in the table. It should now have a zero in the "Machines/Methods" column.
  5. In the "Actions" column of the table click the dropdown menu next to the "Edit" button in the row of the procedure you wish to delete and select the option "Delete".
  6. Select "OK" in the popup window when prompted to confirm the deletion of the procedure.
